MBINGA TC RECEIVES SH1 BILLION FOR EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE

Mbinga. Mbinga Town Council (MTC) has received some Sh1.075 billion from the government for financing education infrastructure in primary and secondary schools.

All thanks go to the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQUIP) and BOOST--- the project meant to improve access to equal opportunities in the best learning of Early Education and Primary Tanzania Mainland.

Mbinga Town acting director Dr. Kung’e Nyamuryekung’e highlighted on Monday (July 8) that the Council had received Sh655.553 million from the SEQUIP and Sh419.1 million from  BOOST for financing the projects whose implementation will start in a very near future.

Under SEQUIP, according to Dr. Nyamuryekung’e, a new Bethrehem Secondary School will be built at a cost of Sh560.553 million, with a view to bringing education service closer to students.

The icing on the cake, a Sh95 million worth two in one house for Dr. Philip Mpango Secondary School’s teachers is set to be built, in an effort to improve enforcement of school rules and timely delivery of lessons and commencement of classes.

On the other hand, under the  BOOST project, MTC will build Changarawe Primary School’s four classrooms and six toilet holes at a cost of Sh106.2 million, and Beruma Primary School’s three classrooms and six toilet holes at a cost of Sh82.2 million.

Furthermore, Dr. Nyamuryekung’e added that the Council will build Masumuni Primary School’s three classrooms and six toilet holes at a cost of Sh82.2 million as well as Nazareth Primary School’s three classrooms and six toilet holes at the same cost.

On top of that, the two Early Childhood Development classrooms at Changarawe Primary School and six toilet holes will be constructed at a cost of Sh66.3 million.  

“We really thank the government for disbursing us with the funds meant to improve the quality of primary and secondary education,” Dr. Kung’e smiled as he spoke.

He added confidently: “We promise the government that each cent will be used as intended.”
