GVT DISHES OUT SH11.974 BILLION FOR DVT PROJECTS IN MBINGA TC

Mbinga.  In a space of pretty close to three years of President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s regime, the government has disbursed an eye-watering Sh11.974 billion for development projects in Mbinga Town Council.  

Mbinga Town Director, Ms. Amina Seif, said in a recent past that the amount in question was injected into projects falling under the sectors of Education, Health, Community Development, Agriculture, Livestock, Administration and Trade.

Ms. Amina was speaking in Songea Municipal Council during the meeting that brought together all Ruvuma’s Councils and Municipal’s directors to air the achievements attained by the sixth phase government under Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who assumed the role in March 2021.

Speaking earnestly, humbly and with gratitude, she said: “We have every reason to thank the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for disbursing us with money for various development projects.”

A soft-spoken and God-fearing Director went further to pour praises on the government: “Walking the talk on various development projects is the testimony of the government’s commitment to bringing services closer to its people.”

Giving the breakdown of the money dished out to Mbinga Town Council under the period of review (in almost three years), Ms. Amina said during the 2021/2022 Financial Year, Mbinga Town Council received a total of Sh5.6 billion.

She went further to expound, in the following years (2022/23 and 2023/24 until December), the Council received Sh5.4 billion and Sh0.974 billion respectively.

                             Education is key to success  

In recognition of the fact that education is key to success, in a period of almost three years, Ms. Amina said, the Education sector received a boost of a staggering Sh7.8 billion from the Government.

The projects implemented during the period under reference include, among others, the construction of 182 classrooms, four new schools---Lusonga Secondary, Dr. Philip I. Mpango Secondary, Matengo Primary and Mpepai Primary.

                            Health is wealth

Recognising that health is wealth, under the period of review (almost three years), the government gave a boost of Sh2 billion to Mbinga Town Council  for the implementation of various health projects.

The projects include, among others, the construction of two Health Centres of Mbangamao and Myangayanga and nine dispensaries in Makatani, Matarawe, Kihuka, Lupilo, Njomlole, Mahande and Kitelea villages.
