MBINGA TC CHAIR ISSUES A 10-DAY ULTIMUTUM FOR COMPLETION OF CARRYOVER PROJECTS

Mbinga. Mbinga Town Council chairperson Hon. Kelvin Mapunda has issued a 10-day ultimatum to local contractors implementing the carryover projects in his area of jurisdiction to complete the work.
 
The ultimatum, whose serving starts today, was issued yesterday, January 29, 2024 during his tour of six carryover projects worth Sh232 million.
 
This suggests that all projects need to be completed on or before February 8, 2024.
 
With their value in brackets, the projects that Hon. Mapunda paid a visit to, include, the construction of three classrooms at Mbinga Primary School (Sh60 million), two classrooms at Mateka Primary School (Sh40 million) and two classrooms at Myangayanga (Sh40 million).
 
The list of projects also includes the construction of a new Primary School ‘Lusewa’--- two classrooms and one office (Sh26 million), two classrooms at Betherehemu Ward-based Beruma Primary School (Sh26 million) and two classrooms at Utiri Primary School (Sh40 million).    
 
“The sixth phase regime under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan had released funds for undertaking these projects. In return, we need to perform our duties properly to ensure that the projects are completed on time and with high quality,” uttered Hon. Mapunda.  
 
He commended Dr. Samia for her efforts to bring social services closer to the dwellers of Mbinga Town Council.
 
Betherehemu councillor Hon. Amanyisye Ngonepo seemed to have been speaking the same language.  
 
“We are so grateful with the way the government is treating us,” he said satisfyingly, adding: “We will make sure that every cent that we are disbursed with for development projects, is spent as intended.”
