MBINGA TOWN COUNCIL DIRECTOR TOURS NINE PROJECTS WORTH SH1.765 BILLION

Mbinga.  Mbinga Town Council (MTC) director Ms. Amina Seif over the weekend (September 23, 2023) toured nine projects worth Sh1.765 billion, a move that is meant to ensure there is value for money in all projects implemented in the areas of her jurisdiction.

With their value in the brackets, the projects that are implemented by the Mbinga Town Council are the construction of the secondary school at Matarawe Ward (Sh 560.6 million), Mbangamao Health Centre (Sh500 million) and the construction of  Kipika Primary School at Matarawe Ward (Sh331.6 million).

The list of projects that were toured by Ms. Amina, who was accompanied by the Heads of departments, also include the construction of two houses for Lusonga Secondary School teachers (Sh95 million) and the construction of two classrooms and three toilet holes at Mbangamao Primary School (Sh53.1 million).

Other projects that were also touched are the construction of two classrooms and three toilet holes at Luhangai Primary School (Sh53.1 million) and at Makatani (Sh53.1 million), construction of two classrooms and three toilet holes at Tanga Primary School (Sh53.1 million), and two classrooms for nursery plus six toilet holes at Kiwanjani Primary School (Sh66.3 million).

Since she assumed the office three months ago, director Amina has cultivated a culture of paying a visit to projects implemented by the Mbinga Town Council to assess the progress.  

Speaking during her tour of the projects Ms. Amina expressed her desire to see the projects being implemented at a high speed, but without compromising the quality.

“Let’s not let down our President Honorable Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan,” she underscored.

 She went on to add: “Our President loves us so much and it is on those grounds that she has given us a green light for the implementation of these projects in our Council.”

Speaking of the Sh560 million Matarawe’s Sequip project, some eight classes, three laboratories and administration block are being constructed, according to Mbinga Town Council Engineer Peter Lupembe.    

He went further to expand that the project also involves the construction of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) building, Library, 10 toilet holes and incinerator.

For its part, Mbangamao Health Centre project, which is at the final stage of its construction, it involves the construction of maternity complex, Outpatient Department (OPD) and incinerator.  

Coming to Kipika Primary School project, it involves the construction of nine classrooms, Administration building and 18 toilet holes
